There hasn't been much news coming out on this end, so hopefully you're enjoying the opportunity to relax! Here's some information about our week:
Student led conferences will be on February 6th. Student led conferences are an opportunity for your child to sit down with you and review their current progress and set goals. This typically takes approximately 20 minutes. I will then join you for about 10 minutes to share their report card and MAP scores. This is the time to celebrate your teen's success. This is the time to make goals to improve areas of concern. This is the time to receive your child's mid year progress report. This is the time to check in with the specialists about participation in those classes. It is not the time for in depth discussions with me. If you have concerns, I'm more than happy to schedule a separate time for us to sit down and talk through those. The classroom will open from 9:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 3:30.
Progress Report- PLEASE READ
It's time for mid year progress reports! These reports are the official assessment of progress towards end of year mastery. What that means is that students are being assessed on the standards they need to meet when they walk out of my grade.
So what should you expect?
- Students that are on track will receive a score of MP (making progress).
- Scores of MP+, SM-, SM, SM+, or AA mean that your student is demonstrating advanced skills for this point in the year.
- Scores of MP-, CLP, CPU, and CNU mean that your student is not yet demonstrating the skills we would expect at this point in the year.
Field Trip- Bamboo Garden
We will be leaving by 8:15. Please don't be late!
Revolution! France- An educational card game HELP WANTED
We have about 100 pages that need to be glued together and then cut out. If you can help, please check in with me in the morning or after school and I can give you the supplies. It will require an external work space (spray glue emits fumes).
