Good afternoon, families!
Please take a few minutes to catch up on recent and upcoming 6/7 events!
A NOTE ABOUT SCHOOL PICTURES:
Apple of My Eye Photography has our school pictures ready for you to view and order! Our school's gallery will be open for one week. Access to the galleries will close on Monday, October 24th, so please be sure to place your order before then.
Every child has their own password protected photo gallery. Here’s how to access and order your child’s photos.
1. Go to this link: http://aome.search.snapizzi.com/search
2. Find and click on CASCADE HEIGHTS SCHOOL LOGO. This will bring up a small search box.
3. Enter your child's password into the search box.
The password is your child’s birthday in the two digit MMDDYY format followed by the first initial of their LEGAL first name.
For example: if your daughter's name is Ava and her birthday is January 3, 2008, her password would be 010308a
4. When the correct password is entered, the gallery of images will appear for you to view and place your order.

Ms. Venture’s Updates:
Science: This week seventh graders continued their investigation into atomic structure and function. They received their textbooks and will be using those for the majority of the unit, both notes and homework. Sixth grade students turned in their final Star Map projects. I am so impressed with how great they all turned out! Sixth grade took their final Astronomy assessment on Wednesday. They all did very well!
Literature: Seventh grade student have finished Jekyll and Hyde. They are working on an art piece in class, demonstrating their knowledge of the book and it’s applications. Sixth grade has finished Prince and the Pauper and begun Mythology. These stories are very interesting. We won’t be able to read all of them in class. I highly recommend taking the time to read more of them as they are fascinating and great for conversation!
Computer/Library: Both classes finally got into the computer lab this week! We have started with Typing Club, a website that helps students learn proper typing position while learning key location and working on speed. Students must be able to type 35 wpm in order to earn a 3 on their progress report for typing. Students will be able to work on their typing skills at home by visiting the website: chpcs7th.typingclub.com
Each student has an individual username and password to access their account. Students should have the website and their password written in their planner.
Mr. Vieira’s Updates:
Riggs (Spelling): This week we took a break from learning new spelling words in order to focus on creating a reference notebook for Riggs definitions and grammar. New words and spelling tests will resume next week.
History/Geography:

This week seventh grade began learning about World War I.
